At Home | Most of our London ceremonies take place at home. Our scholar comes directly to you with your certificates fully prepared - giving you complete control over your schedule, with no venue fees to worry about.
At a venue you have booked | If you have booked a hall, a restaurant or a hotel, our scholar attends at the agreed time. During the planning call, your dedicated advisor will note down any preferences you have, ensuring your Nikah ceremony integrates seamlessly into your special day.
At a masjid or Islamic center we arrange | We partner with trusted London mosques to take the worry out of finding a venue. This suits couples who want a simple, intimate ceremony. Your advisor will confirm availability, and wherever possible, will secure the space at no extra charge.

While our scholars specialise in Shia Jafari jurisprudence, they are experienced in officiating Nikah ceremonies for couples from a wide range of backgrounds.

We regularly officiate Nikah ceremonies for Shia-Sunni couples, mixed-culture families, couples living in different locations around the world, and inter-faith couples where this is permitted by the Sharia.

Mixed Math'hab Couples

During the planning call, your Advisor sets out the Sharia requirements for a valid Nikah under both schools, including witnesses, wali and the mahr, and the scholar makes sure the ceremony satisfies both. Where the two schools differ, we tell you where they differ and what we propose, rather than quietly following one.

Important

In the UK, an Islamic marriage (also referred to as a nikah, katb kitab or aqid) officiated in the UK is not recognised as a legally valid marriage. This has serious legal implications. For a marriage recognised by law, couples must enter into a civil marriage as well. The law in other countries may differ.

Can the scholar attend at our home for an in-person Nikah?

Absolutely! Most of our scholars are based in London and would be happy to attend at a location of your choice. Our remote option is great for couples outside the UK or who simply prefer a simpler, more affordable Nikah.

I'm Shia muslim - do I need my father's consent to get married?

According to Shia fiqh, there are several exceptions to the guardian's consent requirement. Give us a call or drop us a message on +44 7448 592173 to share your circumstances. Any information shared is strictly confidential.

How does a Shia-Sunni Nikah work at MRS Consultants?

During your Nikah planning call, your dedicated Advisor will run you through the Sharia requirements for a valid Nikah according to both schools of fiqh. The scholar officiating your Nikah will ensure all requirements are met and both partners and families feel included.

We are both Shia. Do we need two male witnesses?

According to Shia fiqh, witnesses are recommended but not required for a valid Nikah.
